Doorbell chime issue

Have a newer ring. Had to put new transformer due to the upgraded ring doorbell. With this new one there’s like a mini power pack you connect to the chime. So you the wires and power pack put into the front and transformer screws. When you press the doorbell, sometimes it won’t work. Sometimes it’ll work but the chime is a mixture of the chime sounds and crunchy/cracking noise. Any help?
