does samsung typically drop the price on the prior galaxy generation

when they release a new one? I'm eligible for an upgrade now, but considering waiting until they release the S22 in february. I don't need the super top of the line cameras, but the display on the S21+ is quite nice. Played around with the pixel the other day but wasn't terribly impressed. Feels bulky.

I held off this year getting the s21 because i wanted to do some improves to my sxs. i think they're going to be changing the camera from software/digital technological advancements to higher quality lens stuff which is supposed to get a notably better pic.
i was considering finally folding and getting an s21, but i'm gonna hold out a few more months to see what the camera really is all about and see the other details when they release official stuff.
far as the price dropping, i really can't add value here
