Does anybody recommend a Wifi Router/Modem combo under $150?

It's for my parents, they have two stories, and i think their house is around 2,500 sq ft.

Most here will not recommend a combo.
Arris surfboards are the goto for cable modems. Nighthawks are fairly popular here but I like ASUS routers. My uncle has a similar house layout and was still having trouble getting WIFI everywhere with just a router so he ended up getting Google Wifi and loves it. It's a mesh network which means it comes with a 3 units that relay wifi throughout the house. My FIL got Eero which is another mesh system and it works great.
What is their internet speed?

yeah, that's sort of what i figured. i wish i could talk them into a mesh system, but they are older and don't really give AF. I think their plan is 200 down 20 up.
I think if they continue to have issues they will be open to a mesh system though. They are currently using an old Combo of mine, and while not great it's provided adequate coverage for them until lately.
