Do you have seperate VLANs? Unless you have them routing through a L3 switch, that traffic will hit the router

Upgrading the firmware is a good first step. Devices that frequently need reboots often suffer from firmware issues. A common problem is memory leaks, where the firmware allocates memory but doesn't release it when it's no longer needed. Over time, this can exhaust the available memory, leading to the device becoming unresponsive or experiencing a system failure. If that doesn't work, you can put it on a digital outlet timer.

Just dumb unmanaged L2 switch but most everything should be talking via standard ARP broadcasts. Everything but our home and work laptops is on the same subnet.
ETA: home assistant has a Netgear integration so I guess I’ll get auto reboot with that once I get my workstation back online.
