Do people still “jailbreak” current iPhones?

I’m a novice to the idea, but it’s my hardware. Would rather not have Apple involved in everything I do After the update, my phone constantly jumps back into “location settings” on and “live phones” on.

Can anyone tell me the pros and cons...

Seems like the battery life would be improved with open source software.

My IT guy at the office did it for me . I am not tech savvy enough to do it myself.

Pros: free tethering , free Pandora , free Spotify , Kodi

Cons: I am locked into using iOS 9 for now. So, when I get text from others with the newer iOS with those special characters , it comes in weird looking.

I like it. But , if it ever goes south, I'll simply upgrade my phone to the new iOS and lose the jailbreak.

jailbreak pretty much died on the new phones. There are a few holdouts.

You know there is a simple way to accomplish this, right?
