Do I need Anti-virus software if I use Microsoft Defender and Malwarebytes?

My Kaspersky became a casualty of the Ukraine war. UltraAV stepped in unannounced and took over. I just uninstalled both programs and am down to Microsoft Defender and a paid subscription to Malwarebytes. Am I good? Should I add a new AV? If so, recommendations?

that should be more than adequate for a somewhat competent internet user. Microsoft defender still lags behind almost everyone as far as protection ability but it is still pretty good (like 99.9% success vs 100% for the best). Malwarebytes probably helps fill any gaps it has.

Same boat as you.
Something was wonky with that Ultra AV install and it didn’t work, and uninstalling it crashed my hard drive.
Got a new SSD, upgraded to Windows 10, and now using Defender with no issues.
