Now I have no first hand experience with the hopper from dish

Best in the business, Hopper 3 is superior to anything to anything dtv offers

As far as DVR on streaming, it is significantly better on streaming apps such as youtubetv or psvue that offer unlimited cloud storage. I mean, it's not even close to what DirecTV offers for DVR.

I had ps Vue before, so I am very familiar with it as well. The interface is garbage and fast forwarding or rewinding on the streamers is a chore. Just a limitation of the lack of local storage

Psvue DVR was great for me. That's good to know about the hopper, so channel changes are fast with it?

I have considered dish in the past, but since I would have to get separate internet service it has never made financial sense. But Comcast is offering some really good internet deals so I might consider them when my dtv contract is up

Hopper is lightning fast.

Haven't used the genie in a while. Probably been about 4 years. Guessing ATT is basically ruining everything related to DTV.

I switch between all the services to get the lower bill.

Dtv now is the worst.

Yea, the genie is awful. Takes seconds to change channels, and if you try to go through the menu too fast or pull up DVR shows too fast it freezes and will take several seconds to catch up

I switch around too based on deals, but I am counting the days until this contract expires in October.
