DirecTV/ATT Watch espn Issue

Buddy of mine has DirecTV and since ATT has bought them out he can't use watch espn. Basically the issue seems to be that his billing is through ATT so he doesn't have a "DirecTV" login account to use to login to the app. He also tried to log in as ATT Uverse but that hasn't worked either bc well he doesn't have Uverse. Any one else experiance this issue and have a fix?

I've read about this, if he has unified billing and his username/login name is an @att.net tell him to change his username from the email address to something else then try activating his watch ESPN app.

He has to choose DirecTV as his provider and then when it prompts him for his "email address" he has to type is ATT username instead.

tell him not to get his hopes up. watchESPN has been unwatchable for me on uverse.

Tell him to cut out the middle man and stop watching ESPN altogether. I was trying to watch it this morning at my parents and they had a 15 minute segment on Andre Iguadala saying the N word 3x during a press conference, OH THE HORROR.

I don't have this issue.
I have DIRECTV and Att.
For my login to get access to Watch Espn I type in
XXXXX@att.net

I have Directv and recently added ATT internet. I had to log in with my att username, but was able to change it back to my regular email for the login. So now I'm back to using the same as before, rather than the long att username.
