FYI, doesn't appear to work with rooted android.

I don't trust my 5yr old with my 6p anyway, so he'll have to use mom's iPhone.

Last time I cut the cord I plugged my Fire TV into the HDMI port of the Xbox 1 to more easily access it through the Xbox 1. Would assume I could do the same for the Apple TV.

In that concept, I have a Harmony remote that we use instead of the xbox and/or amazon fire tv remote. Do you just use 2 remotes in this instance or can the Harmony One remote control both?

Another 2 question for the group. I did the 35$ plan for 3 months and got the free apple tv. Afterwards, I logged back in to my account and added HBO but they instantly charged me 15$ vs. 5$.
Anyone else have this issue? I sent them a tweet an hour ago for support but nadda so far.

Also looking at Westworld on HBO within Directv no and it only has Episode 1-3, and 6. Where's 4 and 5? Seeing the same issue with other VOD content.

guess they charged you for 3 months of hbo. Since you chose the 3 month plan i can understand why they did it that way.

So I havent kept up with the launch of this...you can sign up for 3 months and pre pay and get a free atv4...then if you were not happy after 3 months you can cancel and keep the atv? Thanks!

Hmm I may try it out just for the free (cheep) apple tv. I have direct tv and at&t...I looked at PS vue but didnt pull the trigger becasue I wanted to see how this DRTV stuff turned out.

So with signing up for DRTV now and having at&t there is an app that I can put on my phone and use it like I was sitting in front of a TV at home and it doesnt use data when on the LTE service?

It's on today. It started today. I'm literally watching it through my phone right now. Of course, Paul Finebaum and they're chatting about Bama.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm doing now as I have ATT cell service.

Nice. One more...I think I saw there was a max of 2 devices streaming off this service? Is that only for at home...like 2 apple tvs. Or do these apps on the phone or pads count as well? Wish it was more than 2 but that might be doable.

Two total streams is really a joke. Not sure how it will be viable for a family.

I haven't fully tried and tested but from my knowledge, a max of 2 no matter where you are located. So if I'm watching SEC Network on my iphone and my wife is at home watching Bravo, that's our max.
If I then tried to turn it on outside on my deck through apple tv or whatever, it wouldn't work, or would need 1 cut off.

One thing I really want to try is if it will allow ESPN on 2 different tvs? If so, that's actually an upgrade over SlingTV.

LOL!
Direct TV/ATT is so messed up. Their own people don't know what they are talking about. What is the pricing of your plan and what plan do you have?

Head over to directvnow.com and they break it down among all the tiers and channels in each tier and pricing, etc.

ETA: The best deal right now is to sign up for 3 months pre-paid (so $105) but you get a "free" apple tv (latest gen) mailed to you in 3-4 weeks. It's basically their 60$ plan that they're charging for $35 a month. However, if you cancel, you lose that deal going forward.
That's the one I just signed up for today though.
