I'll give the damn thing a shot when I get home. Doesn't hurt to get a free apple TV. If I don't like it, I'll just give it to someone

I think I'm going to sign up for the 3 month service. That should carry me through until Google and Hulu have their offerings out, and then I can see what they have to offer.

I've been pretty disappointed with Sling functionality on my Roku.

No. You can sign up online.

I am a little disappointed that I can't bundle this with my U-verse internet service, but doing that would probably lock me in for longer than I'm comfortable with anyway.

Wonder what the initial impact of Sling and Vue will look like.

They both should have saved some of their channel adds for this release. The beauty of no contracts

They do have They do have the app out, I'm not sure why it's not showing up when you search for it.

DirecTV Now just tweeted out a link to the app and my iPhone says that there is an Apple TV app

Lots of people are tweeting @directv that:
A) It takes 2-3 weeks to get their new apple tv 4th gen (kinda petty but if you truly just cut the cord, you're in trouble)
B) Apps not available on Apple TV nor on Apple iPhones.
C) People aren't seeing certain channels they signed up for in the 7 day trial period.

I kinda wanna swap over to them but I dunno...

Watching on fire TV since it's already hooked up and I've got to say the layout and functionality is better and smoother than vue.

What I like is they have the current time in the onscreen guide, the guide itself is laid out in a way that we're used to with time being on the X axis and channels being on the Y axis. You can change channels by pressing left or right.

IMO, when they get DVR up and running this blows vue out of the water...and I was already of the opinion that Vue blew Sling out of the water

Yep that link works.

You can find the app in Apple TV after you download it to iPhone. Look in purchased list
