Did AutoDesk stop letting anyone download educational versions of their software?

My AutoCAD I use for personal stuff is expired so I went to download the newer versions. Well now they're seemingly making me show proof of being in college which I am not. It used to be anyone could download them it just watermarked printed drawings indicating they were created with free software. Basically they weren't super strict about it and I never abused that so it was nice to do small projects at home for myself with it. It seems like they wised up or got cheap and now much more heavily regulate who can use their software.

They moved to product specific sign-in based licensing about a year ago.

We have changed the license structure but all software is free for educational purposes. You have to apply for it and have an edu email address.
