Currently have gigablast and am able to run any device and stream hd at same time no issue
Thinking of dropping down in speed because the bill is too expensive. What would be an acceptable speed for up to like 7 or 8 devices going at same time. *keeping my unlimited data plan though

Streaming video doesn't need all that much bandwidth, about 5mbps per HD stream and maybe 20mbps per 4k stream. You could watch 8 HD streams at once on the 100mbps plan and have headroom. On the 250mbps plan you could watch 8 4k streams at once which no one ever does. Cox's comparison page makes it out like you need 500mbps because it's "great for 4k video" but you can watch 4k on 3 or 4 TVs at the same time on the 100mbps plan and not notice a difference.
You'll notice the difference when downloading large files and that's about it. Like a playstation game that's a few 10s of gigs.
Unless you do something out of the ordinary then 100mbps should be plenty, or you could go with 250mbps if you feel the need. I would probably go with 250 mainly because they bump the upstream speed from 5 to 10mbps. Upload speed matters more than most realize, especially if you have any cameras that save to the cloud.
I would also recommend shoving their "panoramic wifi" equipment up their arse. They'll charge you like $12/mo for it forever. Better off buying your own modem and router.

For the same speed and better reliability AT&T is only $95 a month if you have access to fiber where you live
