quote:no problem. I highly recommend the Toslink Optical cord. I was just letting him know that if he did use that cable he could control the soundbar with the tv remote and it would also turn off his television speakers. But it will also do the same for other audio outputs.
What did this mean then?
Sorry not trying to be an arse.

Do you need 6 feet?
They are kinda rigid, so if you don't need that much I would recommend going shorter.

yeah man, that's fine. I'm a big believer in Monoprice cables though. The one i linked is very thick and shielded but the signal quality will be the same.

The 6 ft was a little cheaper so I didn't think it really mattered.
I will get the 3ft.

My soundbar input is about 1 foot to the output on the TV. 10' would be crazy for me.

I do agree with meauxjeaux though. Monoprice is the best usually.

Kosmo, are you good on this? This mini jack that just says Audio is not an output. You need to connect the red and white audio jacks. If the sound bar doesn't have L/R inputs you can go to Radio Shack and get a Y cable that will combine the signal.
Caution: If you're using a digital input to the TV for picture you may get lip sync on some channels.

I used the red and white right now since I had one that has a 3.5mm jack on the other end.
I ordered a digital optical cable for it via amazon.

So I got the Digital Audio Cable attached to the TV and the soundbar and it works, but the volume isn't being controlled through the cable remote.
What do I do?
