Canon Printer Driver continually needs deleted/downloaded help?

I have an HP laptop with Windows and my Canon laser printer driver only lasts a couple of days and then I have to delete it and re download it. Canon has no idea why, any suggestions? It works perfect then it doesn't. All of our other devices never have an issue.

Is there another driver that you could use for the same printer? You can check their website, there may be a few different ones. Also make sure the firmware is up to date, I don't know if that would cause the driver to have issues but that is always something I check when dealing with printers (frick printers).

Does it say that your printer is offline I think it is? I had an issue with my computer after a couple days saying the printer switched to being offline. After deleting and reloading the drivers a couple times which only fixed it for a couple days, looked this up on internet and there was an easy fix.

Do you lose all of your print drivers, or can you still print to pdf, other printers, etc. when this problem happens? If you lose them all at once, try restarting your print spooler instead of deleting the driver. It may not fix your problem directly, but if that's what's happening, it's a much quicker workaround. The spooler is under services.msc at the run prompt. I assume this is windows.

Why do you delete it?
This is the only solution Canon offers. Yes, I get "Printer is in error state".
If I delete the driver and re load it it works again.
I can email myself and print from my phone flawlessly.

I do not lose them. Correct I can still print to pdf and print to my other printer the inkjet.

Worst is if you update your computer os. Be sure the canon drivers are compatible with intended new os level before you do update.
New topic.
System made up phantom canon printers. Resulted in not being able to connect.
Had to delete the extras.
Let us know solution for your issue.
