Can you add a WAP to extend an Orbi wifi6 MESH network?

I have the netgear Orbi Wifi6 mesh network in my house, and it works great, two satellites. I have a detached garage, and I have Ethernet running to it, but the orbi satellite signal just doesn't reach out to it.

Can I buy just a $50 wireless access point and connect it to the Ethernet in the detached garage to get wifi in there (mainly for my MyQ garage door app) or would I need to buy one an additional satellite?

How big a house? How far from your satellite to garage?

I have the same setup with no issues (2400 sq ft) and about 40-50ft. Same from that one to my garage. I get 200+ in the garage.

The house is 2600 sq ft. Physically the closest satellite is about 80 feet from the detached garage, with walls, brick, house garage doors, etc in between. The signal is good about 1/2 way out the driveway, but tails off by the detached garage.

I have wiring in the detached garage, so thought maybe just a simple WAP would work. I don't want to put a $300 satellite in my garage.

Yes, an access point would work.
