I've been looking at the TCL 55R617 for a bit and the price seems pretty steady at $630. Ebay has a 10% off code today and it brings the TV down to $567 with free shipping. Sounds like a great deal. With that said, has anyone purchased a TV thru ebay? Any issues with returns should the product be defective? Is saving $63 worth buying from ebay rather than Amazon?

I bought the 65" TCL on eBay a couple of months ago. No issue. You would probably have to deal with TCL if the product is defective.

You would most likely have to pay tax on the Amazon purchase as well.

Good point I forgot about tax savings. I haven't bought anything off ebay in quite awhile.

eBay has changed quite a bit. They are very buyer-friendly now. If there is any issue, you're most likely going to be covered by eBay or PayPal.

Yeah, I buy on eBay because it's often cheaper and no tax..

You probably save close to $100 I imagine?

I have bought TVs off eBay just fine.. but it depends upon the seller and shipping..

Just make sure they offer free returns.. eBay will also protect you if need be. They actually have decent support to protect you.

Again, just check with them about their return policy.
