You can hotspot your phone and connect the Firestick but cell service on campus for game days gets spotty after about 1pm when everyone starts getting to campus. Data will get eaten up so make sure you use a plan with unlimited.
If you know a student you could get the campus wifi password but we've done that in the past and it's iffy at best.

The consensus in all the tailgating threads has been the most reliable way is with satellite.
Obviously most people don't want to spend that kind of money.
Many people have pretty much conceded that they will probably be able to hotspot a firestick/appletv in the morning for College Game day then whenever more people get on campus and signal runs dry, swap over to ABC/CBS games.
I'm not sure how much better a hotspot device would work compared to just going off your cellphone though.

That's pretty much it. If you have to watch gameday you can easily hotspot the firestick. We just watch whatever is coming on ABC at 11 until the CBS game at 2:30. That early ABC game is usually a pretty good match up.

We use an unlimited data government issued iphone 6.

I have ATT for Cell and Directv Now for streaming. Because they are bundled, no data is used. You will need an HDMI cord and HDMI adapter. Watch games through Directv Now App instead of ESPN to save data. Watch games through ESPN app if specific game is not on Directv Now and burn data.
HDMI Adapter
The only time I've had a problem streaming was for 'Bama game bc of extra people on campus.

I used a laptop w/ HDMI cord in the past. I would also consider using a MiFi instead of a cell. Battery typically last longer, and the signal holds a little better

What does that map show?
Where the cell towers are for each provider. At the law school you'll be surrounded by ATT towers.
