Best WAPs for Uverse

AT&T updated the firmware on our gateway/router and it disabled the Airties wifi extenders.
I'm running a Ubiquity switch between the gateway/router and my hardwired devices, but I am hesitant to put in my own router because of the IP addressing for Uverse TV boxes.
Are there any good WAPs I could add as nodes on the LAN , or do I bite the bullet and try to put the gateway in passthrough and hope a new router can handle the TV addressing.

What is the model # of the Gateway?

I have that gateway/modem as well.
I put it into IP pass through mode and disabled NAT and Wi-Fi manually within the admin settings.
Then, just use my mesh router to handle all IP requests. Works fine.
