Also I enjoy that I can have a new text wake the screen, see what the message is, and reply without unlocking the phone
I never tried Textra, maybe I'm missing out, I just don't know what it does that I need to have and can't do with the stock Android Messaging app. FWIW, I used to use Handcent which had the schedule feature, but I rarely used that schedule feature, so i'm not sure what Textra has that I'm missing.

quote:Could be wrong, but I'd imagine it alerts you about the scheduled text, and then you click send, as opposed to the scheduled text just going off at that time. Though I could be wrong. That's how it worked on Handcent, if I recall.
It sounds like a neat feature at first, but then I realized it doesn't solve any problems that a regular reminder can't handle, and it introduces new problems. What if you need to cancel a scheduled text before it sends, but you forgot that you set it up? You are forgetful, that's why you scheduled the text in the first place. With a reminder, it's just "oh yeah" and then you either send or don't send the message.
