Pfft, they both have shite cameras. When I'm working from home, I put this bad boy on top of my massive 34" 3440x1440 gaming ultra wide

I bought the Phillips 49” ultra wide. I didn’t think I would love it as much as I do.
2x27” without a bar in the middle. Curved screens at desk distance actually are kind of nice. Retail is $1500 or so, but if you wait and watch, you can find a refurb around $930. The only downside is 1440p instead of 2160, but it really is very nice. I moved from a 2160p 34” to it and don’t really miss it.

But now I want to put a second 34” 2160p next to the old one and have a second battle station...

4k has a host of issues. For gaming, we just don't have the tech to push it yet, at least not at top end graphics settings, so I'd rather get a higher fps on a 1440 UW. For productivity, it's a mixed bag. If you're going actual editing work, 4k is great. But if it's just going to be an "office" type monitor, you're going to fight every program when it comes to text scaling.

When I bought this monitor, I did so planning to keep it as my gaming monitor for the next 5-8 years, assuming it doesn't die on me. I just can't see myself ever going back from UW to standard, and I can't conceive of a scenario in which we are pushing 4k UW at anything better than a slideshow in that timeframe.

Very much agree on all counts.

I assumed you fine folks were spreadsheet whores/nerds like me.

Refresh rate on this is fine but not stellar.

I like the KVM + sheer size more than anything. I just wish I could still have 4K for spreadsheets, though the lack of the bar in the middle does help alleviate quite a bit of the drawback.

I do occasional spreadsheet work, but it's a very small portion of the work/play I do, even in a partial work from home paradigm. And considering when I bought this monitor, I was coming from a 14" 1080p laptop screen, I'm having a real hard time finding any faults with it during productivity tasks
