AT&T Iphone trade in question

Ok, bare with me....
I was just chatting online with an at&t rep as i need to pre-order a new Iphone X, my 6+ is close to the end. Anyway, she tells me that any phone valued over $20 would be available for a $300 credit. She even went so far as to say that my iphone 5 valued at like $36 would be elligible for that $300 credit...and that i could trade in both for an estimated $600 credit. That seems too good to be true.
I've read through their site the best i can, and the only thing coming close to that claim is the following language..."Get up to $300 in credits when you trade in you iPHONE 7 PLUS, or up to $200 in credits on other select devices"...
Now, as i have a 6 plus and not a 7 plus it would seem the most i'd be elligible for credit wise is the $200, however she's assured me that any phone valued at more than $20 is elligible for $300 credit.
I'm just curious if any of you At&t users have come across this. I'm going to stop in the store today and ask, but more knowledge is better.
ETA: Opened up another chat with someone else, and the lady i previously spoke to was so full of shite. The second person seems to think she was talking about a samsung credit or something. At&t ftw. fricking retards. So no special credit other than what your phone is valued at.

The $300 credit is towards a Samsung phone only

Damn I wish this was true. Still have my old iphone 4 in a drawer somewhere.

I just got off chat with someone at AT&T. They still have that promotion going on through today and apparently it's in-store only. Any phone valued (via the trade in site) at > $20 gives a $300 credit towards the s8 line of phone. Not stackable, so you can't get $600 credit for two phones. I'm probably gonna go by there today and trade in my s6 I've been bitching about for a few months now so I can take advantage of this deal.
