found a good deal on one at $199 and was thinking of getting it for a birthday present from the wife.

i have an iphone so im sure the features are a bit limited but reading a previous thread it looks like most of the basics are covered. pull the trigger? i don't usually wear a watch but getting notifications while im stuck in meetings and when the phone is on the charger would be nice.

This watch is infamously the ugliest of the smart watches. Would not purchase.

Just spend a few bucks more for a Moto 360.

No it doesn't. Have you seen this in real life?

Moto 360 is easily the best of the Android platform offers.

Edt: not saying but I'm saying, you might be old or have no style sense? It could be both? Sad face.

I'm only trying to help.

I bought my son an LG R and it looks great.

I hate the fat 360 1970s compass-looking face and the ugly half moon of wasted space at the bottom of the circle.

Leo Leporte also said multiple times it was the worst of all smart watch offerings. He is old, but his trust his opinions on tech.

The flat tire never was an issue with me. I do wish it wouldn't have been solved on the latest refresh.

I'm sorry, the housing looking ridiculous. It's huge, really too much going on.

I do like the LG R.

OK I'll stand down. I honestly have only the R to compare and it is sleek and looks way better than my shitty LG G Casio looking watch.

I assumed the urbane kept the same size factor but improved the aesthetics but you are correct that it's almost as big as the 360 so maybe it only looks good on someone with Popeye arms.

I picked up an R for my son for around $150 for his birthday on amazon warehouse but the price fluctuates.

I imagine it would be cheaper now.

Probably best to try one out in person before buying to see how it looks on your arm.

I love the features of the LG urbane 2. Google is doing some crazy shite with wear that only works with that watch.

99.9% sure it has WiFi.. Checking...

I am correct

quote:

The LG G Watch R will be gaining Wi-Fi functionality thanks to the recently-announced Android Wear update. With this, the watch will be able to communicate with your phone, even when the two don't have a direct Bluetooth connection. Wi-Fi functionality was enabled on many watches in the previous Android Wear update, but it is only just now coming to the G Watch R.

I love my Moto 360. The Urbane is nice too though. I just wasn't willing to pay the extra $200 for it.

Wifi isn't as efficient as Bluetooth. Couldn't imagine how using Wifi on my watches would kill the battery.

Have you guys used Wifi on any watches, how fast does it drain the life?
