Hello SEO Nerds! I hope there are a few of you on here!
This latest Google update has been interesting. A lot of people are freaking the ever living crap out of it, but I actually think this new algorithm that Google just dropped is awesome.
I am not a big fan of Reditt and Quora now being a big part of the SERPs, but I have noticed that the SERPs are really helpful to local businesses.
It seems they got rid of a lot of Affiliate, sales, spam bullshite that has been littering up the SERPs the past year or two.
Anyways, I have always used either Rank Math or Yoast for my Wordpress SEO plugins. One either has better options than the other or vide versa. They both kind of do the same things.
However, I just discovered a new plugin (at least new to me) that is AMAZING. It is very lightweight and does an amazing job with this new Google update. I highly suggest testing it out if you are looking for a new SEO plugin.
It's called The SEO Framework
I am not anyway affiliated with this company or anything like that. I just switched one of my sites over from RankMath to this The SEO Framework and I am seeing amazing results.
I feel that RM and Yoast have so much unnecessary bloat garbage in them now that they were starting to slow down my sites tremendously. My Google Speed Insights went up 14 points since making the switch.
With this crazy new Algorithm change that Google just threw down on us SEO nerds, I thought that perhaps this post might be helpful to you (or y'all)

I have to say, this latest Google update is pretty awesome. It got rid of a lot of spammy stuff and made local searches much more useful, which helps businesses like mine.
When working on my site, the experts started with a deep dive to find and fix SEO issues. They checked for HTML errors, broken links, and problems with the sitemap. They also chose the right keywords and created unique, optimized content. Making the site mobile-friendly, fixing code issues, and setting up proper meta-tags and analytics made a big difference.
I am not a SEO nerd that's why I recommend you check LINK / for more professional details.

All I care about is local, and I imagine the vast majority of businesses paying for SEO really should only focus on local as long as Google still gives that real estate to local listings

Lol... you think a SEO plugin will do magic?
SEO requires onsite and offsite work. For local, onsite is important but what about your GBP listing? Distance from searcher has nothing to do with your website.
The content on your website is what's important. Are you cannibalizing content w too many similar pages?
Are you looking Google Search Console?
I was fooled by paying for Yoast SEO Premium years ago... didn't do jack.
