I will admit that I am a watch snob but I love tech. I wear a watch every day. I have been pondering getting a smart watch and played with a gear s3 the other day at target and I am leaning that way.

Any good or bad experiences? is there a better brand/model out there? How long does a charge last?

The gear S3 isn't an Android smart watch. Samsung uses their own software. It is still compatible with Android and iOS, but some functions like Google pay might not be accessible.

Samsung is about to ditch their own watch software and go to wear os, so if you wait for the s4, that may be better.

I have a Moto 360 sport. It is ok, but definitely low end of the spectrum. I am leaning towards getting the Huawei watch 2 but haven't made a final decision. Give a list of what you are looking for in a watch, that will help people chime in

I've got a Fossil Q Explorist. I've loved it so far. It's great looking, allows taking calls from the watch, and has all the other usual smart watch functionality (texts, notifications, etc.). Certainly recommend.

I have a Samsung phone so that's why I was looking at the s3 watch.

I have a Huawei that I wear everyday. It's amazing. Check them out.

Gotcha, if I had a Samsung phone, I would probably stick with a gear watch just for the convenience of Samsung pay. Although, as I said before, Samsung is doing away with their watch os, so I don't know if you will be getting updates ever, or if they plan to update all the old watches to wear os. I wouldn't buy one until I knew the software would be supported

Had the Sony smartwatch 3 for a year, then upgraded to a LG urbane 2 LTE. I love it, have at&t numbersync setup so my watch rings even when I leave my phone in the truck or at home for quick trips. It was the last watch that had everything: LTE, NFC (pay), and speaker. I won't upgrade til they put out another full featured watch. It seems like every watch for the last year is missing something.
