Amazon Prime account hacked

I went to login, and couldn't. It wouldn't take my password, the password that's been stored and operational in my computer for at least two years. Instead, it was some russian email (ended in .ru).
I received no notice of any change of email from Amazon. This greatly worries me, and Amazon, too. They started an investigation on their end to try to determine how my email address would have been changed without me qualifying it. Turns out, the hacker has able to to spoof my email and confirmed it. frick.
Had any orders been placed? No. When did it happen? Two days ago, so they had ample time to order items and ship to an address.
So, I spent the afternoon going into everything, every account, every financial institution, changing passwords and logins, setting up required double authentications, freezing my credit reports, etc. Fun, fun, fun.
Then I realized, after doing all that, that I was using the same computer and that probably everything I've done was logged using a keylogger and that Russian dude is just sitting there smirking, having already captured my data from the resets. Double frick.
So, now I'm working from another computer, and going in and changing everything AGAIN! This shite is tiring and I'm pissed at myself for not considering that before starting.
Fortunately, I've got plenty of backups to choose from, so will strip and restore it, but I'm going to scan it first and see if I can detect a keylogger.

Would it be correct to say that it was incidental that it was your Amazon account? I mean, if there's a keylogger, you could have discovered the issue while trying to log into any account.

I've noticed a lot of phony emails in my box from "amazon" with surveys and free gift cards the last few weeks. It's been getting around my spam detector.

The wife's got hacked last week as well. Whoever did it was apparently interested in an Echo Dot replacement power cable and some children's movie. She changed her password then 30 minutes later got a (legit) notification that someone was trying to access her account.
She set up two-factor authentication immediately after that and has had no problems since.
I've had no problems so it was either due to getting something on her phone (which she has had to reset due to a corrupted SD card) or she used something like her mom's laptop to check her Amazon.
