a little trouble simply turning on my computer

When I go to start up my computer sometimes it takes 3 or 4 presses on the start button for the computer to start up.
I'm afraid that sooner or later that no matter how many times I hit the start button that my computer will not start.
Is this a quick fix taking it to the computer store to have them look at it.

Is it an HP desktop? Had the same issue with mine that I bought new about 2 years ago. Had problem from day one. Within a couple of months, I had to replace the button/power supply because it wouldn't come back on.

You had to replace the button or the power supply?

Computer is a Dell desktop XPS, Intel core 7, several years old.
From responses, it's likely the power supply.
Thanks

Crazy idea, but don't turn it off.

It could be the button, itself, though which should be a much cheaper part.
