I can agree with this so long as we add that there was a BIG drop off after #3. Landycakes, Mikey and JJ were on a different level than the rest of the team today. All are clearly champions league level players.

I'd say after 4. I thought Torres was exceptional.

That's just his game. He's certainly not a perfect player but you know what he's always gonna bring that tenacity. Always surprises me with moments of quality when I least expect it as well.

He's just so inconsistent. He's had games like this for the USA before. The problem is he seems to follow up a performance like this with 6 months of poor form and weak positional play. I would love to see him head to Spain before 2014.

Oh I totally agree. But in the microcosm of this game I thought he set himself into the upper tier of our players. He played very well.

Two more things:

1. He's still young and can grow into a mid-table EPL player if he's given a chance/competent coaching.

2. It's wrong to judge most of the Scotland players on tonight. Levein Scotland is awful. Need I remind the board that they barely scraped by Lichtenstein? He plays players out of position (see Mulgrew, Martin, Whittaker), hates attacking, and is just plain disorganized in the midfield.

Hai guiz. I just got back from our viewing party .

I thought everyone looked good. I do think that Edu = weak link in the mid field.

Scotland is a very meh team, but our performance was awesome tonight. If we can build on it, we will have a good squad !

I read through pie and bovril's match thread. I learned two things:

They validated my hatred of some of bigsoccer by linking their pbp incessantly. For all of the insanely educated posters, bigsoccer has a ton of knee-jerking assholes

We are good enough for other forums to wish big teams, Brasil, to make easy work of us

Maybe. He was very poor this year for Villa though, and I thought under Houllier he was one of our most promising players. I have never seen a player who is so determined to play the "Hollywood ball" though. I'm hoping he's just been low on confidence.

Hard to argue with this. They were awful.

Oh and I'm sorry that I missed this thread but we had a great time at the Londoner. What a great performance.

Edu played a role that Beckerman would have slotted into, otherwise

He was limited but very good

That was like a weird scene from a reality dating competition.

Juan looked so heartbroken after not getting the USA rose from Jurgy.

He's the polar opposite of Bob Bradley. I read that during the cuts prior to the final 2010 WC roster, Bob just told who was cut in a hotel conference room to the victims.

Jurgen is a showman. Pretty soon we'll be seeing if Beckerman or Mo can whip up a better souffle in a competition for the DM spot in a future episode.

First off, shout out to Donovan and Bradley for some excellent play. The midfield played lights out tonight, through tight spaces too; that was a awesome sight. Still think Dolo is our best defender, plus he is great going forward, dude is a T1000.
