On Catalan Secession.

Would Barcelona be allowed to compete in La Liga. I could definitely see the rest of the country going nuts, and totally ostracizing the catalans. Maybe they could move to Ligue 1...?

Would Catalunya be better than Espana?

I support it.

No idea, but it would probably be like Monaco playing in Ligue 1 and Swansea playing in the EPL. Also, Barca isn't the only Catalan.

If the Basques stay with Spain, no. If they leave, yes. Also depends on where Iniesta would play.

Spain trolling and random arse pictures with Spanish captions aren't good posts, otherwise I agree, it's nice to have an insight into the Spanish league on the board

I wouldn't consider what he does "Spain trolling" when you consider how heavily biased the board is to English ball.

Spain is made up of a number of semi-autonomous regions with their own languages, culture, and political systems. Catalunya and Euskadi are two of these with major secessionist movements.

“I don’t know what the government would do if Catalonians declare a unilateral independence,” Dr. Campmany says. “The government has little power to enforce the Constitution, other than the Army. My impression is that this is the beginning of a very long process. Most Catalonians want independence, but it seems to me their leaders just want more concessions.”

But if Catalonia insists on independence, the consequences are uncertain. “It’s not that they are using the independence issue to secure a fiscal pact. It’s the other way around,” Dr. Ruiz says. “I don’t rule out a civil war, or a balkanization of Spain. In Spain, nobody wants to even consider this, but I think it’s tremendously concerning.”

From what I've been reading, this is a play by Catalunya to gain some 5 billion euros from the central government, in a severe economic crisis.

Probably. The only secessionists movements which I think have a good chance of happening within the next 20 years are Quebec, the O6, and Euskadi.

If they did this then they are clowns because their economic situation is basically the worst of any province or state in southern/western Europe. I don't know if Madrid would complain too much.

I don't understand you. You're a monarchist but you support secessionist movements in two different monarchies. And this one, on the surface at least, doesn't really have anything to do with Catholicism vs. Protestantism. You're a strange cat.

My Spanish profe hated Catalunya

He would say they only talk about secession for attention and money. He would go off on these 20 minute tangents about them.

If they want to leave spain they should be allowed to.

Will hurt the national team.

Barca and espanyol to be stay in la liga, unless spain is so pissed off, then big win for Ligue 1
