To be fair to DMB, he was probably one of a handful of players on the field to see meaningful action in a Champion's League semifinal.

It is not outrageous to expect a coach to lead a team like the USA to the World Cup, and it is not outrageous to expect a federation like US Soccer to do everything within its power to reach the World Cup if it doesn't look like a probability, including changing management. It's not 1989 anymore.
And the USA will make it to the World Cup. Am I not connecting the dots correctly?

While we are a favorite to do so, nothing is set in stone especially with how close the table is right now and how competitive this hex round seems to be. We had some pretty close calls to get out of the group stage to here which was unsettling as well. Our up and down form has everyone worried and rightfully so. So it's not a matter of connecting the dots, it's a matter of realizing that this is not a foregone conclusion. Still lots of work to do.

Probably, but we've looked underwhelming in qualifying which is why 98% of US soccer fans who are worried are worried. The calls after Belgium were knee-jercky and emotionally-driven, but the idea that Juergen could be gone very soon, provided that these next three qualifiers were to go poorly and someone important in the federation were to grow balls, is not that ridiculous.
