I would not of been opposed to bringing in Sands and letting him play the 6 for this game but I think Johnny has more upside.

Acosta is a turnover machine.

With a few exceptions, B&H have been squeezing the shite out of Pepi.

Why do we think Johnny has a bigger upside? He was garbage in Olympic qualifying and wasn't great in his last senior team appearance.

Not saying Sands is the answer as he wasn't great in his wcq match but he wasn't terrible.

They played Johnny as an 8 and not a 6.

Isn't that the complaint everyone had about JK is he played players out of their normal club positions?

That roster had ONE #8 and like twelve #6s.

He was asked to play as an 8 and it is not his thing. Him being bad didn’t sink that squad, the roster decisions did.

Johnny has been really good positionally, tried balls over the top (a few kickstarting wing attacks), and has been a pressure relief valve. He has excellent upside.

He hasn’t been perfect. Some bad passes, lacks a little bit of physicality… better than Yueill IMO.

Watch me eat my words as soon as Yueill comes in and scores/assists.

Please no on Jackson Yueill. It might be close to Christmas but it is not Yueill time.

I seem to remember him playing deeper than the 8 but those games were so bad that it all blurs together.

He did, but that’s because of a) what you said there and b) the fact that our guys held no possession and got shellacked.

*newbombii rocks in a corner as Yueill enters*

I love you, Gregggg.

Who of the young guns can be brought in at this stage after those three subs? I thought this camp was about giving youth a chance… so we sub Gyasi and Yueill in? (It is nice to see Reynolds.)

Where are Clark and Cowell in a match where we need goals and youth is a priority?
