Im really frustrated from the strategy Wenger employed today. Offsides trap, no wing play. He can't get the players to settle down and not play scared, or freak out when Zlatan has the ball at his feet, but he hasn't helped with this strategy.

As Zonal Marking pointed out, if there was any of Europe's big guns we matched up well with, it was Milan due to our pacy wingers. Instead we scrapped that plan by benching the Ox and further scrapped it (aka playing into Milan's hands) by going into a 4-4-2 with 4 CMs. Terrible tactics from Wenger.

You can't say this enough!

So sad. First time these 4 defenders are playing together at these positions and there is zero chemistry and they try offsides trap. That and they don't put any pressure on Zlatan and allow him to run at them and pick out his passes.

What technique from RVP but dang it, keeper let that on go in

Song and Djourou now back as the CB's. One slow player and the other with no awarness, I am really scared.

I didn't see from the beginning but I figured Arsenal would try to use their speedy wingers since AC Milan likes to play a compact midfield. Did they try this at all?

Not at all. They started with Rosicky instead of Ox, who always was found drifting to the center. And when he picked up the ball he took it central immediately and forced some outside the foot passes to RVP or Ramsey expecting some quick 1-2 combinations which he wouldn't have done anything with even after receiving the return pass.

They had Walcott start but never played him balls up the line, or tried to slip him through the backline. The wings are real slow with this current pitch, but it still isn't an excuse not to even try.

Rosicky was in the starting lineup, so no.

ETA: What he said. ^

As bad as the defense has been this game, and how nervous Szczesny has been I really don't know what the offensive plan is.

No wing play, and I can't figure out how Ramsey gets into the equation. Arteta was Arteta, the only person playing as they normally would not detracting from the attack. Wenger this second half has tried moving RVP to the AM position hoping dropping back more would allow him to get the ball on his feet more often, but it still hasn't done anything but one attempt on a volley.

FFS... even the middle of the pitch is crap... our players have been slipping everytime they clear the ball. TV5 has slipped at least 5 times one being the one that lead to their 3rd goal....
