Gervinho signs for Arsenal. LINK
I hope he is a replacement for Bendnter, who was generally awful on the wings, and only middling as a center forward. I also hope that we move Walcott inside and let Gervinho play the wing. Also this better not be a replacement for Nasri. I hope to sweet Jesus that we have Mata in line if Nasri wants to frick off.

Word is Dortmund has the lead on Bendtner though there is an unnamed Italian club late in the game setting up a bid.
Hope "opposite of a combover" Gervinho turns out to be a nice sparkplug. It will be interesting to see how much we bought him for. I'm thinking somewhere in the 12 million range. Perhaps a pointless accolade in the scheme of how much respect they get, but he was ranked #1 in Ligue 1 by the castrol index. That at least gets me semi-aroused.

Dortmund doesn't want to give up their crown.

they really ought to consider how much ironic enthusiasm could be whipped up in their fanbase with the acquisition of Beowulf. that sort of quality is indispensable during the doldrums of a season. luckily we also have Eboue. really Arsenal fans have been spoiled when it comes to silver lining benefits of having an amusing set of squad players.

Dortmund have said they're not interested a bunch of times. Not sure if its just talk or what.
There has been some talk about Fulham because he supposedly doesn't want to leave London. Meh. Better him than Robbie Keane though. I don't think he'd work well with Zamora and he's not going to start in place of Zamora. We need a different type of striker but he could help out, especially considering Zamora was out a lot last year with injuries.
Of course this is just the British press and I never know what to believe. For all I know, he might be absolutely determined to leave London.

Keep reading rumors that this could be Roma but I hope not. If true, it would probably mean Vucinic, Menez or Borriello would be on their way somewhere else since Roma has added young talent in Lamela, Bojan along with homegrown Gianluca Caprari in the attack.
I like the Simon Kjaer to Roma rumors more.

Is Stipe Pletikosa any good? He's on trial at Celtic this week according to Sky.

Not sure this is official yet, but I hope it is soon. It's about damn time we signed someone. fricking owners are loaded but are pinching pennies.
Also looks like DJ Campbell of Blackpool could be on his way to Loftus Road.
Now we if can just get a couple defenders and somehow hold on to Taraabt, I'll be feeling much better about the season.

Never put any serious pressure on Gomes, while with Tottenham

According to the sports papers in Rome:
Chelsea is offering AS Roma €35 million for Daniele De Rossi and promising to pay him a salary at least €1.5 Million per year more than what Roma would pay.
Chelsea made a similar offer for Totti in 2004 and Totti sealed his status as a Roman legend by turning down over €10 Million to stay at Roma.
Hope De Rossi puts his heart where his money is like Totti.

When questioned about the supposed interest in Nasri, Sir Alex told the waiting media: "I don't think he's coming to United. That's all I can tell you. I think he's agreed to go somewhere else. Maybe he has to stay at Arsenal, also. That's a possibility."

he stayin'

"Samir's situation is clear for me - he stays," Wenger reiterated when he spoke to reporters in Malaysia.
"I've told you that we are in a position where we can say 'No.' And we will [in the case of Nasri]."

Until the 11th hour when Bayern gets him

Love Nasri, but if he isn't going to re-sign for us, keeping him is the wrong decision unless we win the quadruple. Wenger is doubling down on this season it looks like.

Jupp Heynckes thinks arturo Vidal will end up at Bayern either this summer or next.

Right now I'm hoping we keep Fabregas for one more year, and Sahin flames out at Real so we can get another shot at him.
