Based on preseason form I’m starting bergvall over Maddison. I don’t think Ange will, but just going by performances he deserves it.

Son was a ghost today, and when he did pop up he was fricking terrible.

We look just as poor on set pieces as we did last season. Nobody looks like they have a fricking clue.

Ange has to stop forcing Vicario to play those goddamned stupid short balls to our players when they are clearly covered. There’s zero cover when he inevitably fricks up the pass, or the player receiving the ball has a bad touch. It’s led to two goals in two games now. Vicario can’t be that stupid, so I’m assuming he’s being directed to do it.

After this preseason, I’m not really confident going into matchday 1. It’s hard to judge when basically the entire back line was gone, but the middle of the park, and the front line have me concerned. Which makes sense considering it’s the exact same personnel as last season, except for solanke just being added. Levy better add some more pieces.

Is anyone else concerned that there hasn’t even been a whisper of adding cover to Udogie at LB. For as much as we ask of fullbacks in this system it’s crazy to me that we haven’t looked to sign someone there. I have no problem with Porro and Spence at RB, but we have seen the massive drop-off when Davies starts at LB. In my opinion it’s the biggest weakness in our squad. We have no cover for the left side of our defense. Dragusin can cover VDV at times, but he isn’t a true left footed CB. I hope I’m wrong, but it seems like we are one injury away from a disaster there.

100%, and I haven’t even heard rumors they’re looking for cover at lb.

I feel like VDV is the single most irreplaceable person on the roster with how we play. I’m not sure if the stats back it up, but his speed covers so many mistakes, and lets everyone else push forward. Even Romero going out is easier to replace than him.

If VDV or udogie miss any big stretches of the season we’re screwed, and any shot at top 4 is gone imo. it’s fairly clear at this point Ange will refuse to change how we play to cover deficiencies. Maybe he’ll learn, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.





How many point out of these first five? I’m going with 7.

As a life long Aggie fan it’s been baked in for a long time.

If I’m being optimistic I could see 10pts I think. Wins against Leicester, Everton and brentford with a draw at Newcastle.
