Manchester City have ended their interest in Alexis Sanchez as they feel he is too expensive, according to Sky sources
I never thought I would ever see that series of words coming from City

Dunno why Chelsea and Liverpool have not been making a run at him either

They'll end up buying him at the end of the season.
Looked good at first. Ended up being slow and a bit of a coward.

He’d be perfect for the system but no way at those wages. We’re not as stingy as Spurs, but we still have some kind of wage structure that would probably be shattered with him right after we reached a little bit on VVD paying him £180k a week

Yea dude he works so hard he fits in any system
With us we will be deadly on the counter and will work his socks of dropping back
With Liverpool he would press like a mad man

I'd think at most, we'd go to £250k/wk... but considering we've never broken 200k/wk, that may be a stretch... We were only willing to go up to £200k/wk for Coutinho
I would be more worried about disrupting the harmony in the dressing room.. Salah is only on £90k/wk (though I would be ripping that up and giving him a new deal)
Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, I wouldn't commit more than three years at those high wages, he has a lot of miles the last few years..

A lot of it has to do with what happened this summer with Dani Alves. Pep, Txiki, Alves and his agent had apparently all agreed on terms and then PSG called and offered PSG, frick you money. Alves' agent came back to us and said, "hey, we have this offer, you need to match it" and Txiki was supposedly super butthurt about it.
This same thing has happened again. Terms were agreed upon between City and a player and another club offered more money at the last moment.
I don't blame the players or their agents, I get they want to get the best deal possible. But I also get it from our point of view that we expect players to hold true to their word, which hasn't happened twice now in six months.

The agent business in Europe seems to be about the slimiest profession of all..

I mean seeing the agent fees that guys like Pogba and Sanchez's agent supposedly did/are going to get paid.....I get why they do it

I do too... and why would a player want to pay him a cut of his salary when the club just pays it...

City clearly leaked Chelsea "interest" so they can PR their way out of conceding defeat to United.
Why would we leak that after the club supposedly already leaked that they were pulling out of the deal on their own accord
It's pretty simple why they are doing so, spewing a made up story about Chelsea being interested doesn't really make sense.

I just think it leads to them getting their own pay days instead of always doing whats best for the player..

We all know the money angle is bs
But it’s smart to say that
Pep got upset Sanchez didn’t fully commit and decided to shop around
Nothing more than that.

I'd be pissed if I had agreed to pay my lawn guy $100, but he came back a day or two after negotiating and said he wanted another $100 a visit because someone else offered him better terms.
I understand it from the person getting paid's point of view, look out for yourself and your well being, but it's something that a lot of people are going to take personally.

Yea for sure but the money angle is just an excuse
City were ready to spend £60 million this summer then wages
