I don't think anyone on here ever called Howard great to begin with. You're right, great keepers make the first save, but no one is putting him in the class of Schmeichel or Kahn. The issue is if he's overrated. He's a solid keeper and he doesn't deserve more criticism than praise for this World Cup.

Kasey Keller is one of the most overrated US Soccer players ever. Just look at the goal he let in against DC United a few weeks ago.
