Why because people are having a reasonable debate? That is shite to you? What do you think message boards are for. I haven't called anyone a name, blindly degraded any player, or said anything that is not true. Maybe you should get a new definition of shite? My best guess however is that "shite" to you means someone making a point you don't want to hear and not being able to refute it.

Lampard is a great midfielder but in no way does he just run away with the title of being the best at his position in the world. Gerrard had 60+ goals over the last 5 years to Frank's 70. And look at the shite he has to play with. Just saying, if Stevie would've moved to Chelsea Lampard would be a shadow of the player he is now.

1. I never said he was the best in the world. I said he was the most productive.

2. I have the utmost respect for Gerrard and until this year have always said he was the better of the two. It remains to be seen if this year was an abberation for him and his team or a sign of him slowing down.

My apologies for misunderstanding. Just needed to get my homerism out . I kind of feel like Gerrard doesn't get the respect he deserves sometimes for some reason. Don't know why I feel that way, but it makes me stand up for him when I don't need to.

Kind of like a little brother standing up for his big brother.

Or a huge fig with an intense mancrush.

I'm going to say the latter is probably closer to the truth.

I feel like until this year Gerrard has been pretty widely regarded as a top 3-5 midfielder in the world. I know he is certainly up there in my book.

I have one for Michael Essien so I understand.

I'll agree. Lampard, really the whole England midfield, has a hard time finding their stride for England. Although it seems to have changed under Capello just looking at results but I haven't seen them play enough to make any real judgements about that.

still plenty of room on our bandwagon, even after yesterday

I jumped on the bandwagon after Bill Simmons convinced me of it back in 2006. Spurs are a great team to follow because they're always pretty decent, but never the best, can play some attractive football on their day, very rowdy home atmosphere, have some money, new stadium on the way, and are based in London- very easy to get to if you travel to see a game.

Did anyone tell this dude to be a Leeds fan yet? That would be the correct answer.
