I suggest you take an Irish history class. This is just flat out wrong. Irish, and specifically Catholic discrimination in the US was alive and well into the 1950s.

I agree, and that's why I said I don't excuse it. But there is terrible societal history that has left scars for a long time. They need to get the frick over it, but its not as simple as black and white.

Well the United States is a much more progressive country. We solved those societal problems much quicker than the isles. Regardless, you're right it shouldn't still happen today. My issue is that you paint it out to be just some psychotic cult that decided they hated the Union. Its much, much deeper than that.

I was referring to the fact that Rangers embrace the abuse the crown allowed against the Irish, just as Celtic embrace a needless hatred of a crown that have tried as best they could to repair those wounds. Both sides are guilty.

I'm not defending Celtic. I'm trying to be sensible about the fact that both sides are to blame for this. Just as Celtic fans go to that extreme, Rangers fans do their best to push them there.
