Little gem of a game by the makers of Retro Bowl (Phone football game that’s reminding of Tecmo Bowl).

This game kicks arse. I have played Retro Bowl for a while and it is fun but not at all deep. Retro Goal adds a lot of depth in both team management and gameplay while remaining simple enough to be accessible to folks with little to no soccer knowledge. It isn't Football Manager by any stretch of the imagination, but what it does it does very well. And it's only $0.99! Highly recommended. Thanks for pointing me to this game, OP.
