I know that players loaned within the EPL can't play against the club that "owns" them. Atletico Madrid's keeper was loaned to them from Chelsea. Can he play against Chelsea in next week's UEFA Supercup? TIA

No, I do not believe so. In fact, I'm almost a 99% sure.

Why are you curious? I think the answer is no, but why wouldn't Cech play?

Courtois was loaned out to Atletico again for this season

@Bho, It doesn't sound as if loaned players are specifically excluded from playing against their parent club in the European Supercup. So, it would depend upon the contract between the two clubs. Marca reported in late July that he would be allowed to play.

AM keeper is Courtois. We loaned him there. The only thing I found was FA rules which allow the loaned player to play in cup competitions. Have no UEFA rules on it.
