Current team:
GK: Steve Cronin Portland's goalie last year
DF: Jeremy Hall traded from the red bulls
MF: Ryan Pore Division two leading scorer with Portland last year
FW: Eddie Johnson Division two #2 scorer with Austin last year
FW: Bright Dike Fourth leading scorer in Division 2 wih the Timbers last year.
The draft takes place Wednesday, the protected lists are coming in today. Portland gets the first pick, alternating with vancouver.
Each team can have up to two players picked total. If one gets taken, then they get to protect another player.
Earlier today, Portland traded NYRB a third round Superdraft pick for Defender/Midfielder Jeremy Hall. Good chance they made a deal not to take anyone from the Red Bulls in the draft.
Likely targets to this point (unprotected players)
Dal- Dax McCarty. McCarty is the best player in the expansion draft. Only 23. US national team experience, Unless he has a move to Europe lined up, he's a shoe in.
Dal- Eric Avila
RSL- Alex Nimo. Nimo played for Portland on loan last year.
Phi- Shea Salinas
CUSA- Alan Gordon. Led the NASL in scoring his one season with the Timbers
CUSA- Jesus Padilla
SJ- Tim Ward
SEA- Sanna Nyassi The wing player is likely the second best player in the draft. Young with upside.
SEA- Patrick Ianni Young defender
SEA- Julien Baudet expensive defender who came off the bench for the rapids this year
SEA- Nathan Sturgis
Col- Anthony Wallace
Hou- Samuel Appiah
Hou- Corey Ashe
SCKC- Jonathan Leathers
LAG- Dema Kovalenko the MLS's Nigel De Jong dear God I hope not.
LAG- Mike Magee
LAG- Josh Saunders Backup keeper for the Galaxy
NE- Pat Phelan
Portland has traded LA allocation money (salary cap money) for an international player slot (Portland is now allowed 9 international players)

Has Vancouver locked up anyone besides DeMerit?

Of note: Real Salt Lake left Robbie Findley unprotected. Findley plans on playing in Europe next year. This will be one of the few times in MLS history that a young American leaving the league will actually improve the level of play.

No, but they've put together a camp team that they are going to draw from.

Denmark, apparently.
Hope they have a reserve league.

He went on trial with Brøndby about two years ago and they had an interest but couldn't work out a transfer with MLS. There was a report out of Denmark that they had people coming over to look at college players and want to talk with Findley about joining them.

Houston left Eddie Robinson and Corey Ashe unprotected, wouldn't be surprised if Spencer doesn't go after one of them.

Are the Timbers kit suppose to look like Celtic's ? I have seen those. I didn't know if they are going with something else tho.

FC Dallas left Dax McCarty unprotected, unless he has a move to Europe lined up, I believe we have our #1 overall pick.

I assumed that these were going to be our kits.
Not the sponsor of course.

Rogue would be sweet on the kits.
Do you think we're going to take McCarty?

This is a fan rendition. However, I like:

Also, I think it'd be dumb not to get Dax McCarty.

Right?
How many players with USMNT experience and potential are available in this expansion draft.
The timbers management said they'd take the best player available, regardless of position. You'd have to imagine they'll take McCarty. If they don't, me and my new club are going to be getting off on the wrong foot.

If those are the kits, I will be a Portland fan. Those are

Dax should go to Belgium, Denmark or Sweden for a year or two. After that he could play in the EPL or perhaps the Bundesliga. He looked really good last night.
