3 man central midfield though.

we've basically been playing a 3 man central midfield anyway. Dempsey lives in the middle of the field.

NO ONE has been filling that space, it's really been bothering me.

Yeah but I mean pushing up Dempsey and Donovan farther and then a 3 man midfield behind them.

But yes he plays extremely centrally and that's why we need an attacking left back so bad. I think Paraguay (even though we lost 1-0) was by far our most fluid attacking performance in a while and its because Chandler (and Dolo can obviously do this) and Bornstein were getting forward with pace and filling those holes that Dempsey (especially Clint) and Donovan leave when they push inside. Boca can't do that. Period.

Neither did very well with the ball when they got it but it made us look a lot more dangerous attacking. And we were unlucky to get shutout in that game.

Johnny GaySpecs (NTTIAWTT) was a revelation for me this year at West Ham, and I watched a lot of their latter season games. He wasn't just a holding midfielder, but got forward intelligently into the attack.

His play with West Ham was not unlike Bradley's US play of late.

I agree with Dempsey being up top. I think it is worth the risk of him being pulled form the middle if it helps out the attack.

Yea dude, he gashed MUFC for 2 or 3 goals when he was first moved to midfield for West Ham.

Well, Boca had to move inside so I'm happy with that. I was hoping for more of a formation change and it doesn't look like that's happening.

The only problem with Lichaj there is he's always cutting on to his right to cross but whatever, its a better attacking option than Boca.

I'm not surprised to see Jones. I thought he was pretty good against Canada, and then everybody was bad on Saturday.

Someone explain what Wondo has done to merit the start?

To bring in a fresh Agudelo later on? I dunno man, it makes no sense to me either.
