When are NYCFC supposed to leave yankee stadium? I feel like this was supposed to be a temporary home, but I’ve heard nothing about a new stadium.
ETA: Tyler Adams.

I hate this field so much.

It creates such a weird chaotic pace of play.

Sometimes it's produces some fun 4-4 matches but it's frustrating to watch your own team play there because it's almost a different game

Yeah, it’s crazy.

I wonder if it looks that bad in person?
I could see it being way worse because of the angle of tv cameras.

I imagine it does. Opposing players hate playing there. The field is noticeably smaller.

Unsurprisingly, Adams is having another good game.

Almost a nice assist for Adams.

I’ve read online they have a site either Bronx or manhattan on the water. Looks awesome. They need to leave ASAP tho.

Yes, the team is looking at some sites in the Bronx/Manhattan areas. They actually had a site planned out a few years ago before the current mayor’s administration came in and those plans fell through. I think they’ll get a site at some point, but it takes forever to build a stadium in NYC. Hell, it took the Yankees like two decades to build the new stadium. It’s far from ideal, but at least Yankee Stadium is in a good location and the team gets great attendance. There are far more concerning stadium situations for the league to deal with in the meantime.
First and foremost is the Chicago Fire’s awful stadium deal that forces any MLS team in the Chicago area to play in Bridgeview until 2037. If you know Chicago, you know Bridgeview is a dump several miles from Downtown. The Fire are irrelevant and have bad attendance despite playing in the country’s third largest market. I think the league will eventually buy out that terrible deal and try to move the team to a better location. But who knows if the franchise will even be worth salvaging by that point? A new USL team backed by the Cubs’ owner is coming to Downtown Chicago soon that will make the Fire even more irrelevant. If that team is the huge success I think it will be, MLS might just buy out the Bridgeview deal, fold the Fire franchise, and have the USL team take its place in the league. Not saying I want that to happen, but I can easily see it, if that new USL team comes into town and outdraws the Fire. MLS can’t be happy with the Fire’s market penetration in Chicago.
