Nike strengthens hold on soccer's top dog with monster Barcelona deal

To go along with snagging Chelsea on a 60 mil deal and allegedly being in talks with Spurs, Nike and Barca have agreed to terms on a deal that is worth 100 mil euros, or 78 mil pounds, the largest kit deal in the world.
To anyone who though Nike was out, that sure isn't the case.

Actually it's 75 million dollars bruv
And Chelsea is paying adidas with some of the money to buy out their contract just adding to adidas profit margin.

I mentioned in OP that it was a deal worth 78 mil pounds. Are you saying the market rate is wrong somehow?

Nike just gave Lebron a lifetime $1billion deal. I don't think Nike are worried about profit margins, especially when they get 90% of the revenue from each Barca shirt sold.

It's 60 million pounds a year that's 15 less than what United get.
It's not the biggest kit deal ever.

Why is literally every news site saying different? Not trying to be a dick, just wondering where you're seeing your info compared to me.
Everything I've seen says it's a 100 mil euro a year deal, which when converted to pounds is a bit more than 77 mil pounds a season, which is more than what United gets per season.
ETA: Do I just suck dick at math like every other news organization that's released stories saying it's the biggest kit deal in the world?

Can't wait for Mcfagbro to melt when Nike no longer kits City.
The melt will be epic.
Unless we go back to Umbro, those old Umbro kits were special.

I'm so confused. Did you think I was talking about Chelsea lol?

The one city aguero shirt I have is the last year with umbro, excellent quality

What do you think City will get on their next deal?
Chelsea sold in the top 5 worldwide in shirts so it's kinda of justfied.

I would like to see Leeds win percentage since we stopped wearing Nike in 2003

I honestly have no freaking clue.
Our deal doesn't run out until 2019, but there have been rumblings of us wanting to renegotiate. I'd assume it will come soon, but I'd be shocked if we got more than Chelsea, even though they had a bad year. I just don't think our global popularity could justify close to 60 mil. I'd assume it would be in the 45-50 range.

thats still a bit much going from less than 20 million pounds to 40+

Unless I'm mistaken I think the current deal is like 12 mil pounds
That deal was signed awhile back though, I think the brand has grown exponentially since then, but I'm also looking at that through blue eyes lol.

Pretty sure Zenit's Nike deal is the best. We're a global club

I'd say they're equal since Barca won the league.
Saying Adidas has the top club would be like me saying Nike has the best English club because City went the furthest in the largest/most competitive european tournament. We all know that isn't true lol.

Nah, saying Adidas has the top club is like him saying the 100 percent true fact Real Madrid is the most valuable sports team on the entire planet.

This is something I cannot argue with
You just had to bring facts into this.
