The point is that they're in substantial debt, all the while lamenting Real Madrid for irresponsible spending.

They are in debt, in the same way most soccer teams are in debt. They only have a gross debt of about 150 million pounds, which pales in comparison to Man U, who has a debt of 500 million pounds. Barca has in the form of bank debt, while Man U has it in bonds. The 500 million euro figures that get bandied about are total liabilities, which are much greater at Man U than at Barca or Real. But each of these teams can service the debt quite easily. Barca use the "right way" idea as propaganda against Real, but they recognize they have to spend to keep up with Madrid as well.

They're losing substantial money in the market, but every big club besides Arsenal does that.

That's fine and all. They have to spend to win, but those other clubs don't have any delusions of a higher moral standard.

Man U sorts of does, but not to the extent of Barca.

But it's not like we got that debt because of paying like a Chelsea, PSG, or City. The debt is there solely from the Glazers takeover.

I have no problem with debt as long as you can service it. It's mostly how we talk about it in the soccer world that is the problem.

Considering United is one of the only teams on the planet that actually turn a profit, that debt will be gone in a decade or two.

Well I don't think the Glazer's should have saddled the club with that debt to begin with, but I suppose it's a convenient way of paying it off.

Yeah, it was a pretty d-bag move by the Glazers. That's why you have all the green and gold scarf wavers.

I'm still skeptical as to how effective Neymar will be outside of Brazil. A lot of Brazilians struggle in Europe

Will Neymar be enough to break down Chelsea's vaunted 9-0-1 formation, which they love to deploy in champions league football?

Doubt it but they had to try something, Chelsea own Barca. Ovrebo isn't around to bail them out anymore.
