Here is the bracket. Real Salt Lake is the second seed in the Western Conference, Seattle the #3. San Jose is the #1 overall seed and will host the final should they reach it. The team with the best record to reach the final gets to host it.

Predictions

Discussions

Racist rants against the favorable treatment of the Los Angeles Galaxy by obviously corrupt MLS referees conspiring with the US Soccer Federation.

At first glance...

LA over Vancouver
Houston over Chicago

San Jose over LA
Seattle over RSL
SKC over Houston
New York over DC

San Jose over Seattle
SKC over New York

SKC over San Jose

...if GAM's okay, then Seattle might slip into the Cup Final.

Why in the hell is there 2 weeks between semis and finals? This isn't Super Bowl week.

Grant Wahl said that last week. Really, really odd.

Probably has to do with getting the best TV spot. I also think that MLS potentially wants to use Stanford Stadium or San Jose State's Spartan Stadium in lieu of hosting their premier event at rinky-dink 10k Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, should San Jose make the finals. Either of those larger venues could be made up for a soccer event during that lull period.

Assuming LA gets by Vancouver, that match up with SJ is looking sweet.

DC/NY will be worth watching, and will be interesting to see if Seattle finally gets it together. They'll have to earn it against RSL.

Mine is basically yours, but San Jose wins. Lenhart gets the winner and reveals that he is Tony Pulis' illegitimate son.

War:

You have NY beating SKC, yet you have SKC losing to San Jose in the final.

:Interdasting:

LA over Vancouver (LA can score, Vancouver cannot. Simple soccer sabermetrics)
Houston over Chicago (Houston probably with a slight edge if Oscar Boniek Garcia and Will Bruin have a good game)

San Jose over LA (San Jose have LA's number this season)
Seattle over RSL (Pending GAM injury situation)
SKC over Houston (Revenge for SKC after last year's ECF defeat)
NY over DC (toss up at this point. DC hot to end the season, but NY much more talented)

Seattle over San Jose (Despite San Jose bettering Seattle in the regular season, the Goonies propensity to let leads slip in the second half will kill them. San Jose can't win in the )
SKC over NY (Best defense in the league wins)

SKC over Seattle (No revenge for Seattle after Open Cup defeat to SKC)

Why did I think the Cup final was played at a neutral predetermined site?

It's been that way in previous years.

My predictions would probably be the same as WSE's except I'm too biased to pick against the Sounders.
