He's basically a forward right?

He is a LW, but can play on the right and as a CAM...

He thrives on his pace and trickery on the left flank, cutting in and shooting on the right... very similar to a left footed Robben.. He was fantastic in those 2 matches against England and I prefer him to his international teammate Yarmolenko

If this does happen, I think we may just have gotten the better player between him and Salah... But I'd still have preferred a DM or LB..

Now that PSG have Cabaye, I'd love for us to get Sakho's buddy Matuidi... He's out of contract in the summer, go get him!

I know he terrorized Shakhtar last year. Other than that I'm pretty clueless about him. I was really pumped about Yarmolenko, so I hope you're right.

I just think he is less of a gamble and his game suits our team and the EPL better...

I just think Yarmo has the a bigger bust potential... A lot to do with his style.. I just think his height is a bit awkward on the wing and may be a bit slow in the EPL... Also, last summer I read about his mind set and his initial abilty to settle in the Ukranian league.. prob reading WAY too much into it all...

I think he would really slot in well with the system and give us another true winger outside of Sterling. Think I'd prefer him over Salah now, even though Salah's younger, but Konoplyanka still has some room to grow and improve as well

Apparently we now face competition from Tots and Arsenal for the Ukranian Robben.

If we lose this one, I think we should just fire all scouts and transfer personnel since we aren't going to actually use them. Let the Tots, Arsenal scout guys, and then use the money we saved by not having scouts be the upper hand in the bidding war?

Of course, there is this assesment from his countryman in England which doesn't sound too good.

“I don’t think the English league is right for him,” he is quoted as telling the Ukrainian media. “Konoplyanka’s style of play is better suited to Italy or Spain. The game in England is totally different. It’s about power -- you have to run back and forth, back and forth. You run at speed up and down, and it’s like that for 90 minutes.

“I saw how he played in the [World Cup qualification playoff] second leg against France, when Ukraine lost 3-0, and he was like a headless chicken.

“It is a completely different level. When you play in the Ukraine, you can afford not to run. In the match against France, it was evident that Konoplyanka barely runs at all. Konoplyanka is a good player, but he is suited to Spain or Italy, not England

Good thing is that work rate can be easily fixed... Don't defend, don't play...

Raheem has come leaps and bounds in this department and Coutinho is coming along too

Just not my style... Plus I'd feel like an a-hole driving around in a $250,000 car...

Welcome!!

Always good to have another 'Pool fan on the board.

Maybe we'll eventually catch the Arsenal thread....

Also, looks like we're submitting a plan to the city council that would have the stadium expansion completed by 2018. Yeah yeah, I know....but still, its a step in the right direction.

Anyone know how much additional revenue we're talking about?

Looks like y'all are about to sign Yevhen Konoplyanka.

Great signing. Very versatile, but I'm confused on why Dnipro let him leave. They put a 60m price on him last year I think, but I don't think y'all have paid that much.

Looking more like it might not happen and we're trying not to spend too much. Guess it'll go down to the wire.
