may have been a dive

Definitely was. Anyway, I don't have much else to add other than the fact that seeing Bale get a card for diving and the own goal coming off his face made me at least a little happy.

Gerrard and Henderson were decent today. Actually the squad as a whole played decently for 3/4 of the match. The bigger problem is that we have no idea how to grind out draws and wins late in games.

I just don't see it. Even the commentators were saying they were awful. Our midfield got completely annihilated.

I didn't think they were that bad...

And I think blaming Henderson for 2 goals is a bit harsh (couple posts ago)

I mean we are playing a LB and a 17 yr old up top with Suarez... Neither are experienced or good enough to consistently give the help he needs... Plus we need a creative attacking mid...

Which is stupid (the lb part). Suso and sterling in a top 3 was worlds better than the crap we've had to watch these past two weeks.

So then why is Henderson in? He's just not good enough. I would have rathered Sahin.

So, how does Lucas coming back change this team? I guess we really havent seen BR's system with a true holding mf...

It doesnt solve the problem we have up top, unless freeing up Joe Allen to play a more advanced role will pay off... I really never watched him at Swansea...

The defense should definitely improve and by early 2013, I expect Lucas to be bossing the middle of the pitch again... I read his original injury was a year ago, yesterday...

Also, bit of noise going around that 'Arry wants Joe Cole on loan...

I think its more so freeing Gerrard up. He plays way too deep to be effective up top. When he keeps himself in an attacking position and plays off of and with Suarez, he's been a huge threat. I'm hoping with Lucas's steadying presence in the back he'll be more comfortable staying forward for longer periods of time.

I'd like to see Lucas, Sahin, Gerrard or Lucas, Gerrard, Shelvey for starters. Allen needs a bit of a break.

Well, Im assuming that Lucas will allow Rodgers to "flip the triangle," as he put it, and have 2 midfielders more advanced... I keep hearing BR say that we havent seen the best of Joe due to him being in that role...

I agree, I'd love to see Stevie getting forward more...

One of the jillion LFC related twitter feeds I follow proposed this... this formation seems to only get used in Italy and obviously lacks width... May be interesting with Enrique and Johnson pushing forward and Lucas falling into the back... I dunno...

Meh. Shelvey up top with Suarez might have potential with Suso in the hole. Otherwise I don't see much upside to Shelvey being in the XI. Suso, Henderson, Gerrard and Enrique are the only ones who have been willing to send through balls. Shelvey is only in there to score.

I'd be really interested to see Johnson and wisdom in the back with Enrique at the CAM position. I honestly think he'd do a good job there.
