Early chatter is Suarez, Gerrard & Sterling to be rested for the Cup game (no big surprise)... Yesil to possibly get his second start up top...

Vorm injured for Swansea

So over the weekend, as I was rounding the corner to my house, I noticed a flag flying off a house in the irish Channel... not LSU, not The Saints... but LFC

Thought that was pretty cool...

Luis loves English football

i like hearing this from BR... I'll be honest, if I was Luis, I would consider leaving the EPL... wouldnt blame him if he did and would support him where ever he went...

That said, I think his game is tailor made for the EPL...

Good god if I was Luis. He is a saint in my eyes because I'm pretty sure I'd be in jail for murder in spite of everything he's gone through. I get heated in meaningless pick up games where the trash talking is virtually nonexistent. I can't imagine a professional soccer match where the whole crowd is chanting against you and players/managers are just taking turns calling you out in the media.

Probably helps when you drive home in your 100,000 pound car to your mansion with a hot wife waiting in it though.

Yea I think I can put on a smile for that

But he will do that in any country he plays in. I'm happy he's still here, but damn I'm not sure how he hasn't bailed yet.

Raheem Sterling has " reportedly" rejected a 15k a week new contract.

He should be making at least what Downing is making.

ETA I'm not joking either.

I dunno, I think over paying a 17 yr old who really hasnt done shite too much is asking for trouble... what too much is, not sure but 15k isnt far away...

I don't care how much LFC pays him, just that they do in fact pay him..

His age is irrelevant to me at this point since he has shown maturity well beyond his years. He has skinned every defender he has gone against so far this season, and he is an integral part of the squad. I understand not over-paying him, but I'd rather give the man his money than lose him.

Well, if we are worried about a wage scale, I think he needs to fall in line... He has us somewhat over a barrel now that the EPL sees he's a great prospect and he's been called up to the full England squad...

I dont know what the magic number is but Im sure they do and wont go over it... I dont blame him. I'm sure it will get done though.

Exactly.

Also, I thought you couldn't get a big boy contract in England till you're 18 years old?

I dont know either, I'm hoping he's asking in the 20-25 range. If so, that would seem doable and people have speculated that's what Suso is on...

If he's thinking 50... frick off and sign Nathan Redmond

Again, I;m just speculating and there may be no truth to any of this

Yea, I hear what you're saying..

I love him and would like to keep him at all costs, but obviously there is a number where his wages become detrimental to the squad. The sad thing is that he has contributed more and performed much better than Cole and Downing combined, who must be close to "earning" 200k between them. They both just need to get the hell out of Dodge..

Which leads me into something else: Yesil and Cole are both starting tomorrow according to reports

Just pay the man and be done with it... but no more than 25k a week hopefully...
