saw a rumor where pool is interested in lewis holtby from schalke for a january transfer. would be a great buy, dont know if you guys need an attacking midfielder, but he is a good one. only 22 and i believe he used to be the captain of the german u21 team. his contract runs out at the end of the season and surely they wont let such a promising young talent away for free. his dad is from liverpool, but i think he's an everton guy. the article also said arsenal was interested. it was a british website, so this has a 100% possibility of being made up entirely.

I've seen that we have been linked with him... I would think that a CAM is a few options down the list of needs... But I believe he is versatile enough to play on the wings. With his contract being up next summer, he should be available for cheap. All that fits our buying MO.
edit: maybe a double swoop at Schalke?? once again we are linked with KJH... he is out of contract next year, too. I know its not the FSG philosophy, but I still think he would have great value if we can get him cheap on a three yr. deal. Give time for the younger strikers to develop...

I'll say it... I think if BEASTs scenario holds true and we get some reinforcements... we could push for top 4... there are only3 that I think are guaranteed to be in the top 4 (2 Man's & Chavs)...
I know this is highly unlikely, as the others are sure to bolster their squads too... I definitely dont think its a must for Rodgers, but I wonder how much longer a player like Suarez will stick around without Champions League... maybe one, tops, after this one??

We need some depth in the midfield at the very least, especially if Sahin leaves after this season. We also desperately need a 10-goal-a-season midfielder.

I agree, no reason why this squad couldn't push for top 4 if they are healthy. I think Suarez gives them 2 more years with no CL.

yeah, if Sahin leaves I agree, but I think we can hold off until summer... I think a CDM is more needed right now, against the big boys, but Lucas should be back soon... Do any of you think Henderson could grow into that role? Lucas was a CAM at Gremio...

I love Henderson and think he is perfect for our squad. But it doesn't look like Rodgers agrees. Late in the summer window we tried to swap him for Dempsey, so he might not have a future under LFC.

Yeah, you can definitely tell Rodgers prefers Jonjo out of the two... I agree that I think he can be a solid player (England too) for the next ten years

I am meh about Holtby. I think we have the midfield covered well enough to not require another above average midfielder. Draxler though I would snap up. That kid is good. Oh well one can dream.

It's unfortunate, because I haven't been able to see much of him in the past year and he was always fun to watch... this isn't necessarily how I wanted to have that happen...

Luis should not see a minute of the pitch. Go with Yesil or Morgan and if we lose then we lose. Not worth the risk.
