Strachan in?

Craig Levein will not be carrying on as Scotland coach, BBC Sport understands.

It follows a poor start to the World Cup campaign, with Scotland sitting bottom of Group A.

The seven-man Scottish Football Association board met at the end of last week to consider the 48-year-old Fifer's position.

And the decision comes the day before the international squad is scheduled to be announced for next month's friendly in Luxembourg.

The SFA board had come in for widespread criticism for continuing their deliberating over the weekend about the future of the former Hearts, Leicester City and Dundee United manager.

His contract was due to run until summer 2014, with reports claiming that sacking Levein now could cost the SFA up to £700,000.

That would be because of the talent available. WGS is a much better manager than Levein.

IMO, better chance of Eck or Smith again than Coyle.

Seriously? He's more negative than Levein and his winning percentage with Scotland is only slightly higher.

scotland was more of a threat under smith IMO. he had a signature win over france and the squad was in decent position. i know he is a rangers guy so probably not your top choice.

who

it would be interesting to see the # of how many current and former rangers players vs celtic players played for scotland in the last 20 years

but still most rangers fans pull for scotland some for england while just about all celtic fans are irland fans

Sir Alex Ferguson ?@Furious_Fergie
Get Derren Brown in charge of the Scotland squad. He'll have them thinking they're Brazilian in 10 minutes. #gaffer
